Dreams Anthology: The Doorway — Chapter Two

Written by Dennis Harvell

The Hallway

I stood in a long corridor, walls stretching endlessly in both directions. The air was heavy, as if time itself had slowed. At the far end, a single doorway glowed faintly, its frame pulsing with light.

The Threshold

As I approached, the door seemed both near and impossibly far. Each step carried weight, yet the glow grew stronger. The handle was simple, unadorned, but it radiated a quiet invitation — a choice waiting to be made.

The Passage

I opened the door and stepped through. On the other side was not a room, but a vast expanse of shifting colors, like walking into a living canvas. Shapes formed and dissolved, landscapes appeared and vanished. It was a world of pure possibility, but also disorientation.

The Choice

In the distance, two paths emerged: one narrow and winding, the other wide and straight. I felt the pull of both, but the dream whispered that the doorway was not about choosing a path — it was about daring to step through at all.

Reflection

The doorway was not a barrier, but a passage. It reminded me that beginnings often feel uncertain, yet crossing the threshold is itself an act of courage. The dream was less about where I would go, and more about the willingness to enter the unknown.
