I’m Done
Being “done” isn’t an outburst. Anger is loud; “done” is silent.
I’ve spent years being the foundation for people who wouldn’t offer a single brick in return. I’ve been the bank, the therapist, the safety net — and the silence that comes when you stop giving is deafening.
I’m not taking a break. I’m not setting a boundary. I am done. Done justifying my value to people who only remember me when they need something. Done being the one who reaches out, checks in, and saves the day.
When you stop giving and the room goes quiet, you learn the truth: if the only reason they were there was because of what you provided, they were never really there at all.
This year, I’m shedding the weight of one‑sided expectations. My peace is the most valuable gift I own. And for the first time, the winter air feels light.
