Dreams Anthology: The Mountain — Chapter Twelve

The Base

I stood before a mountain that towered into the clouds, its peak hidden from sight. The ground at its base was littered with stones, each one carved with symbols I could not read. The mountain radiated silence, as if it had been waiting for me all along.

The Ascent

The climb was steep, each step demanding strength. My hands scraped against jagged rock, my breath heavy in the thinning air. Yet with each pull upward, I felt lighter, as though the mountain was stripping away what I no longer needed.

The Trial

Halfway up, the path narrowed into a ledge. The wind howled, threatening to push me back. I pressed against the stone, steadying myself, knowing that the mountain was not testing my body alone — it was testing my resolve.

The Vision

Near the summit, the clouds parted. I saw flashes of every journey before — the forest, the river, the tower, the city. They were not separate trials, but steps leading here. The mountain was the culmination, the place where all paths converged.

The Summit

At the peak, I stood above everything. The world stretched endlessly, vast and alive. The mountain did not offer answers, only perspective. From this height, I understood: the climb was not about conquering, but about becoming.

Reflection

The mountain was not a challenge to defeat, but a mirror of growth. It taught me that every struggle, every ascent, is part of a larger journey. The dream reminded me that the summit is not the end — it is the beginning of seeing clearly.
