Where The Light Gets In

Where The Light Gets In

We spend so much energy trying to project an image of effortless perfection—a flawless plan, an unblemished career, a perfect life. Yet, as the poet reminds us, “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” Our struggles, our past failures, and our current anxieties are not obstacles to overcome; they are the very spaces that allow light, growth, and authenticity to enter and enrich our lives. The search for flawlessness blinds us to the source of our deepest truth.

The pursuit of an uncracked facade is exhausting and ultimately limits our potential for deep connection. When you share your imperfections honestly, you don’t reveal weakness; you reveal humanity. This courage allows others to lower their own defenses, making true, meaningful connection possible. Your greatest lessons and deepest well of empathy were forged in the moments when you felt most broken, proving that vulnerability is a strength.

This week, shift your focus from masking your imperfections to celebrating the light that shines through them. Do not waste energy on hiding the scars of your journey. Instead, recognize that these experiences are what give you wisdom, perspective, and the unique ability to help others who are currently navigating a similar darkness. Your entire story is stronger because of the cracks, not despite them.

Do not pray for fewer cracks; pray for the wisdom to notice the radiance that flows from them.
