Dreams Anthology: The Archive — Chapter Fifteen

Dreams Anthology: The Archive — Chapter Fifteen

The Chamber

I entered a vast hall lined with shelves. Each shelf held journals, photographs, fragments of stone, and symbols carved into wood. The air was thick with history, as if every dream I had lived was stored here, waiting to be remembered.

The Pages

Books opened themselves as I passed. Inside were scenes I recognized — the forest, the river, the tower, the city. Each page carried not just images, but reflections, lessons etched into the margins. The archive was not silent; it spoke through memory.

The Keeper

At the center stood a figure cloaked in gray, holding a quill. They did not speak, but their presence was steady, as if guarding the archive from forgetting. When I approached, they handed me the quill, inviting me to write my own entry.

The Writing

I placed the quill to parchment, and words flowed without effort. The ink glowed, weaving my journey into the archive’s fabric. I realized the archive was not just a record of dreams — it was a living testament, growing with each story told.

The Legacy

When I finished, the shelves shifted, making space for my entry. The archive accepted it, folding my journey into its endless collection. I understood then: the archive was not about preservation alone, but about continuity — a reminder that every dream becomes part of a larger story.

Reflection

The archive was not about keeping the past, but about honoring it. It taught me that memory is not static — it is alive, shaping how we move forward. The dream reminded me that legacy is built not by holding onto what was, but by sharing it so others may carry it too.
